Group S
See the published web site at
www.groupes.be.
The main objectives were :
- to improve the support for authoring and publishing of articles by all non IT-staff
- to redesign the company web site to improve the visitor experience and promote Group S products and services
The quality of the implemented solution :
- all non-IT staff can now create and manage published content with SmartEdit interface
- efficient support for translation of new or updated articles, either by the author him-self, or by registered translator using the Reddot Translation Editor
- Reddot RDBMS connector was used to fetch data (such as scales, price indices, and other social numeric information) from corporate RDBMS, automatically at publication time
- automated integration with a web tracker software to track for changes on the government web site, automatically feed the corporate CMS with latest information, and trigger a Reddot workflow
- 3 IT staff were trained by CEDITI, and can now maintain the project on their own
- flexible solution : web design, content structure and business processes have evolved during the all project, but the web site was online following initial planning anyway
Main challenges :
- migration of 20 000 MS Word documents in 2 languages into clean HTML CSS-based pages, applying uniform presentation to all published documents
The result :
- web site online on due date (January 2006)
Some figures :
- 1 CMS Server (Windows 2003/Oracle 9i), 2 concurrent administrators, 10 concurrent editors
- 1 LiveServer Server (Windows 2003) supporting 100 000+ visitors each month
- Web site of 20 000+ web pages, each of them in 2 languages
- 50+ Reddot templates
