Today, thanks to your Belgian Identity Card, you can sign any digital document, without needing to handle paper copies anymore: the digital version signed by CEDITI's electronic signature plug-in has exactly the same legal value as the paper one. Besides, the digital one cannot be falsified !

How to use the plug-in?

Once CEDITI has integrated the "digital signature" plug-in in your Document Management System, a new button appears on thescreen allowing you to sign any pdf document. The plug-in :

allows one to select the pdf to be signed
invites one to insert your electronical identity card in the smart card reader
invites one to enter one's Personal Identification Number (PIN)
saves the signed document wherever indicated and/or sends it to designated recipients

Once CEDITI has integrated the "digital signature" plug-in in your e-business website, the plug-in :

creates a pdf based on the form filled by the customer
invites the customer to insert his electronical identity card in the smart card reader
invites the customer to enter his Personal Identification Number (PIN)
sends a copy of the signed pdf document to the customer

How does one achieve these features ?

CEDITI developed a "digital signature" plug-in, integrable in any Document Management System or any e-business extranet.

Thanks to this plug-in, the user signs the document (form or pdf) through a single click on the dedicated button.

The digital signature (there may be more than one) is saved directly in the pdf document, and stays attached to this document when it is duplicated, recorded or sent by email.

Cediti decided to add these signatures in pdf-formatted documents because it is currently the safest format to keep documents uneditable and to facilitate their distribution.

The digital signature guarantees that the document's content has not been changed since the document has been signed, and that the signatory is really the person he claims to be.

In Belgium, the electronic signature provided by CEDITI's plug-in is legally valid based on the following two laws :

the European directive 1999/93/CE date 13/12/1999 (in French), published the 19/01/2000.
the Belgian law dated 9/07/2001 (in French), published the 29/9/2001
